Dec 25, 2020 Charles Sabini was known as 'king of the racecourse gangs' and his Clerkenwell-based gang ruled over the south east's racecourses in the early part of the 20th Century. Sabini, the son of an immigrant Italian father and an English mother and born in Saffron Hill - then known as London's Little Italy - became the south's top gangster of the time.
